Ingredients of Methi Chakri
- Prepare 2 cups of all purpose flower.
- You need 2 tablespoons of ghee/refined oil.
- It's 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
- Prepare 1/4 cup of clean chopped methi leaves.
- You need 1/4 teaspoon of carom seeds.
- It's 1/4 teaspoon of red chilli powder.
- Prepare 1/4 teaspoon of whole cumin seeds.
- It's 2/4 teaspoon of coriander powder.
- You need Pinch of Asafoetida.
- Prepare 2 cups of refined oil for frying.
Methi Chakri instructions
- First mix the ghee or oil evenly with the flour,then add salt & carom seeds.After that add cold water little by little to form a tight dough..
- Now keep that dough aside for 10-15 minutes.Now for the stuffing chop methi leaves very finely. Then mix red chilli powder,salt, Asafotida, coriander powder & whole cumin. Mix it well..
- Now take a small portion of the prepared dough & roll it out. To make perfect round chakri try to roll the dough into rectangular shape..
- Now take a spoonful of methi/fenugreek mixture & spread it evenly over the rolled dough. Then gently rub the fenugreek mixture on the dough, so that the dough get to absorb the flavor of the spices..
- Now roll the dough from one edge to another crosswise. Roll it tightly so that once it goes into the oil doesn't come apart..
- Now gently press & roll the dough on a plane surface to seal the edges. Now cut the roll into 1-inch coins..
- Then roll & press the coins just once & fry those into medium hot oil on low heat preferably. Frying on a low flame turn those chakri super crispy..
- Once those are golden brown,take those out from the heat & serve anytime you like. Store those in a air tight container & enjoy crispy chakri everytime..
